Unwell
Some years ago, Alisha Chauhan, one of the daughters of Parle chief Prakash Chauhan, got into the fitness business, with Parle Agro’s V3 Fitness Commune, a chain of gyms in Mumbai. (The name means “Verve, Vigour and Victor,” according to the Parle Agro Web site.) The plan was to expand to other metros via franchisees.

Reports said that a lot of research had gone into developing the brand, and the strategy was to “provide psychological and spiritual health along with physical well-being.” Also on the cards were a bunch of energy drinks. The whole wellness shebang, in other words.

But all is not, heh, well, apparently. One of our minions works out at a V3 branch, and he heard that the place was about to close down, because the family was pulling out. We couldn’t get through to Parle Agro, but we called the number on the V3 Web site (which, by the way, sports an ‘under construction’ notice), and the folks on the other end confirmed the news. Very, Very, Very sad.
