Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India was being run like a tech company that was anticipating market transitions and adapting itself for the future, Cisco’s chairman John Chambers said.

He was speaking at the CNN Asia Business Forum 2016, which took place in Mumbai on February 14, 2016 as a part of the Make in India Week.

India is one emerging market in the world that he is willing to bet on for future growth; and failure to invest now would tantamount to missing the proverbial “bus”, Chambers said.

Chambers said that he was bullish on India because it was in sync with the speed at which innovation was happening around the world in the second phase of the internet – the digital age.

“India also has a young population of 1.2 billion people and the current government is presenting an end-to-end strategy for future economic growth, which includes re-skilling people and initiatives like Make in India, Startup India and Digital India,” he said.

I wish these initiatives boil down to the people who can make a difference like me. We have so many disruptive ideas but no channel to communicate with VAs and get funds
