The wealthiest 1 percent of the planet’s 2,153 billionaires had a mixed year: Half got richer; the other ten got poorer. Life is unequal even at the very top: The collective fortune of the world’s 20 richest people is $1.2 trillion, about 14 percent of global billionaire wealth. The mean net worth of the Top 20 is $60.4 billion, while the average billionaire is worth just $4 billion.
