The Global 2000 hail from 62 countries—up from 46 in our inaugural 2003 ranking—and in aggregate they raked in total revenues of $38 trillion, profi ts of $3 trillion, assets of $161 trillion and market value of $44 trillion. For the fi rst time, China is home to the world’s three biggest companies; it also lands five of the top 10 spots.
Methodology
The Global 2000 is a comprehensive ranking of the world’s biggest public companies, as measured by a composite of revenues, profits, assets and market value.
