How much are you spending on rain protection this year?

While some parts of the country (read: Mumbai) are already neck-deep in the monsoon, other parts (read: Delhi) are still just about wetting their toes. But regardless of where we are, we’ll need adequate rainwear sooner or later. Although the variety of rainwear has increased in the past couple of years—the long, single-fold umbrella is now available even at street stalls, while fun and functional Wellingtons are available online—prices have not increased much. A survey of small shops, street stalls and big retail shows that prices, on an average, have risen between 10 and 15 percent.
